Beijing International Airport Transfers

Beijing Capital International airport is located just 20 miles or 32 km from central Beijing and there are various efficient transport options available.

Getting to the airport by Car
The airport can be reached via four express toll ways. Two of these routes lead directly from northeast Beijing to the airport, while the other two connect to the airport from highways.

The primary road-link from the city to the airport is the 20 km long Airport Expressway, which is a toll road that takes motorists from the north-eastern 3rd Ring Road at Sanyuanqiao district to Terminals 1 and 2.

The second Airport Expressway takes motorists on a 15.6 km long toll road from the east at Yaojiayuan Lu district to the eastern 5th Ring Road and from there north directly to Terminal 3 and the parking facilities for that terminal. The car parks and terminal building are linked via a covered walkway, making it possible for visitors with a car to be within the terminal building in just over 5 minutes.

The Northern Airport Line takes motorists on an 11.3 km toll road from the east of Jingcheng Expressway and from there directly to Terminals 1 and 2.

Finally, the Southern Airport Line takes motorists on a toll road which runs parallel and to the south of the Northern Airport Line, namely from the Jingcheng Expressway to the eastern Sixth Ring Road located at the Litian Bridge. The Southern Airport Line crosses the Airport Expressway and 2nd Airport Expressway, making it possible for motorists on the former to get to Terminal 3 and the latter to reach Terminals 1 and 2.

Less frequently used now, the tree-lined, two-lane Old Airport Road runs just south of the Airport Expressway. The Old Airport Road was once the primary access route to the airport before the expressway opened to the public. It is the only route to the airport that doesn't attract a toll charge.

Getting to the airport by Express Train
The airport is served by the Airport Express Line of the Beijing Subway, which travels from central Beijing via Dongzhimen and Sanyuanqiao to Terminals 2 and 3. It takes approximately 20 minutes for the whole journey and the ticket for one single journey costs RMB 25 per person.

In Beijing there are three major railway stations from which travelers have access to the Airport Express Trains via the Beijing Subway, which links with the Airport Express service.

Getting to the airport by Bus and Coach
There are some ten local bus lines serving the airport, some of which also travel via Beijing's three main railway stations.

The Airport Shuttle bus lines cover various downtown areas in central Beijing, connecting the district of Xidan, Beijing Railway Station, West Railway Station, Nanyuan Airport and other destinations with the airport.

There are also inter-city coach connections with cities surrounding Beijing, such as coaches from Tianjin City, Tanggu, Langfang City, Baoding City, Qinhuangdao and Tangshan City. Thanks to high demand for coach travel between Tianjin and Qinhuangdao City, both within a relatively close proximity to Beijing, these two destinations are served by 5 inter-city bus lines that also cover the airport.

Getting to Beijing Airport by other means of public transport like taxis for example is also easy. Hotel staff will be happy to assist with the booking of an official airport taxi. It is also possible to contact Airport Taxi Dispatch Management directly on tel (010)64541100. Official taxi ranks for drop off and collection of passengers are located at T1 outside Gates 1 to 5 on level F1 and at T2 outside Gates 5 to 9 on level F1. Another taxi rank is located at Terminal 3.

Don't forget - if you plan to travel during your stay, it might be more economical to rent a car at Beijing Airport.
